Based on safe return roadmap, the General Administration of Education in Taif Governorate put a plan for the coming academic year. The “safe return” became a slogan for the Administrations and offices of internal and external education, in which teachers sincerely perform the mission of education according to the latest educational and teaching methods that fit students of different levels. In addition, the roadmap ensures the optimal readiness of educational, administrative and technical staff to fulfill the needs and dispel obstacles. It also provides schools with appropriate educational environment, using effective methods of securing security, safety and educational health environment to protect the educational field from diseases and viruses by providing all related equipment and tools. This in return will lead to start of the academic year with seriousness and diligence on the part of students.
Renewable projects
Recently, the General Administration of Education in Taif Governorate equipped 7 school buildings that serve 4 thousand students. The schools are well-equipped with school furniture, 3 gyms and two football pitches with sports grass, with a total value of 44 million and 300 thousand riyals. In addition, 6 rented buildings with a rental value of 830 thousand riyals annually were dispensed with.

2- The sixth and tenth Elementary schools for girls in Hawiyah
3- 19th Elementary School for Girls in Ruwaidif
4- The updated middle school for boys in the Wissam
5- The 33rd secondary school for girls in Sharafiyah
6- Thaqeef Elementary School for Boys in Wasit (Uday bin Hatim Elementary School)
7- Al-Hamma Elementary and Middle school for Girls.
89 “Early Childhood” Schools
Preparing for the coming academic year, the General Administration of Education in Taif Governorate equipped 89 early childhood schools. The schools accommodate 12,600 boys, with 56 girls’ schools accommodating primary school students, and 31 boys’ schools converted to be early childhood schools. Besides, the General Administration of Education in Taif managed to rehabilitate a building of Taif University to be an early childhood center of (30) classrooms accommodating (900) students. The building was initially delivered to the University by TBC, and the process resulted in dispensing with 3 rented buildings. In implementation of the vision of the Ministry of Education to establish early childhood centers, the General Education Administration in Taif and TBC converted 26 schools to be early childhood centers accommodating (1320) students, which will be ready at the beginning of the academic year, and implemented attached kindergartens and their annexes in 10 schools accommodating (870) students. They were received and will be ready for the academic year. The total number of kindergartens reached 154.
As a result of the implementation of early childhood projects and the operation of new government projects, the General Administration of Education in Taif managed to dispense with 31 rented buildings, with a rental value estimated at approximately 7 million riyals.
Transfer of School books
To ensure a distinguished beginning of the academic year, the Administration of Education in Taif Governorate started an early transfer of school books to external and internal warehouses (for boys’ and girls’ schools). Books of elementary, middle, and secondary schools are transferred by the department, harnessing all the human and mechanical capabilities to ensure their availability at schools before the beginning of the academic year. The headmasters, although in a regular leave, took the initiative to receive their allocations of school books in preparation for an optimal and distinguished academic year.
121 summer training programs for 10,000 teachers
This summer, the General Administration of Education in Taif developed the fourth phase of its educational professional development programs. They are 121 training programs provided by qualified educational supervisors, targeting 10,000 trainees of education staff who trained on 92 programs for male students and 29 programs for female students. According to the General Administration of Education in Taif, the uniqueness and innovation of such training programs leads to a high demand of trainees to join and benefit from them.
The training programs are implemented by the Training and Scholarship Administrations in partnership with the National Center for Educational Professional Development. They aim to achieve the optimal investment of summer vacation and the return period to train the educational bodies on in vocational education to develop educational performance in stimulating training environments. This will reflect positively on improving educational practices and learning outcomes, as well as meeting the professional needs of teachers and achieving diversity for all targeted educational groups. In addition, the programs provide distinguished and qualitative courses that develop educational and professional experience. It is also an opportunity for male and female teachers to invest their free summer time developing their profession and performance.
A million masks for students
In its early efforts to prevent Covid-19, the Department, in cooperation with Taif Health, organized a campaign to vaccinate its employees with Covid-19 vaccine. In addition, Taif Health allocated a path to vaccinate students at the main vaccine center at Taif University.
In preparation for a safe return in the coming academic year, Taif University, in cooperation with the General Administration of Education in Taif, allocated a path to vaccinate students of general education at the Medical Services Center of the University.
In an integrated system of services provided by medical, technical and administrative cadres that Taif University harnessed to provide the best services to the beneficiaries, a high turnout of students aged between12 and 18 years come to obtain the two doses of the vaccine in preparation for the safe return to study at the beginning of the academic year.
In addition, the Administration of School Health Affairs provided a large number of thermometers and more than one million masks. It also equipped 832 health clinics in schools, providing them with all the necessary supplies. It assigned health counselors in the clinics to receive medical conditions of schools. The Administration continues its awareness-raising efforts through its official accounts and the accounts of offices and schools to urge middle and high school students to obtain two doses of Covid-19 vaccine to ensure a safe and present return for the coming academic year.
Maintenance of 947 schools
As part of its preparations for the new academic year 1443 AH, the General Administration of Education in the Taif Governorate started cleaning and maintaining schools in Taif and its educational governorates to secure healthy, attractive and safe environments for students. The schools registered in maintenance contracts are about 947, while those covered by hygiene contracts are 1076 schools.
The Director General of Education in Taif Governorate, his assistant for support services, the director of the Operation and Maintenance Department, and a number of committees and engineers are following up on the ground the cleaning and maintenance work in schools to determine the extent of readiness for the return of employees to start the new academic year. He directed cleaning and maintenance institutions to continue their work until the completion of maintenance, cleaning and sterilization of all schools in the governorate.
School bus fleet
In cooperation with Tatweer Educational Transportation Service Company (TTC), the General Administration of Education in Taif equipped a fleet of school buses to provide educational transportation service for general and registered private education students, aiming to providing comfortable and safe services and ensuring the highest standards of security and safety for the beneficiaries. The Administration of Education, represented by the Student Services Department, is working hard to identify 3 sites to introduce school transport buses and the level of readiness to families to enroll their students in the educational transportation service. The sites were the 50th Street separating Juri Mall and Terra Mall, Al-Radf Park and Al-Sitteen Street in Al Hawiyah.
