The Building Development Company TBC, which is fully owned by the Public Investment Trust and the Education Ministry projects executer, is working on 4 tracks to lift the efficiency and development of the ministry's buildings. The first track includes the buildings projects that was launched in 2014, the second track started on 2017 and included maintenance and cleaning, the third included restoration and rehabilitation, while the fourth included furnishing and advisory services in an integrated work system aligned with a phase planned to cover all Kingdom's Regions and Provinces.
The first track focuses on school buildings and multi-use halls and its attached facilities, which include guards’ housing, canteens and rooms, in addition to shaded yards and grass pitches, while starting from mid-2018 it is working to complete the implementation of educational buildings that its contracts were terminated with the Ministry, where it has completed more than 1,125 school and administrative building to serve 537,000 students in a number of education departments across the kingdom.
The second track provides periodic maintenance and cleaning of school and administrative facilities, with the expansion of these services since 2020, which included 7,137 school and administrative buildings to serve more than 1.6 million students in a number of education departments across the Kingdom, focusing on improving the quality of buildings and adopting digital technologies to ensure the efficiency of operating models and the creation of the educational environment for both gender students, in accordance with the plans of the Ministry of Education, in addition to supporting the efforts of the Ministry in this aspect during the Corona pandemic.
In the third track, TBC provides its specialized services for restoration, rehabilitation, emergency maintenance and additions to school and administrative facilities in a record period of only 72 hours during the preparation of the virtual school during the Corona pandemic to serve the educational process remotely, to include 1,445 school and administrative buildings to serve more than 197 thousand students in several education departments across the Kingdom. The company expanded in the fourth track related to furnishing, maintenance, and advisory services, as it was able, during the past three years, to improve the specifications of school and office furniture and diversify its sources of supply with the quality and speed required for all education departments, while providing the necessary support to the Projects and Maintenance Agency in the Ministry to supervise projects under implementation and study faltering ones. And providing solutions to complete them, as the services of this track reached a number of education departments across the Kingdom through more than 6,300 school and administrative buildings, which contributed to creating the appropriate educational environment for 1.8 million students.
