His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, has inaugurated today in his office at Al-Hukm Palace (44) new school projects for boys and girls in 17 districts within the city of Riyadh and other governorates that are affiliated with the Education Department for the academic year 1444 AH. The projects reached a cost of more than 769 million riyals. The inauguration was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Eng. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan and education leaders in the region. His Highness the Prince of Riyadh Region has thanked the wise leadership for their unlimited support to the education sector in Riyadh, including the establishment of educational projects for boys and girls for all educational levels. His Excellency the Minister of Education, Eng. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, also thanked the wise leadership for the generous guidance and support that the education sector receives. He pointed out that these projects come within a group of construction projects implemented in Riyadh, as 77 additional projects will be completed consecutively with the generous support of our wise leadership in the near future. His Excellency clarified that these projects were designed and implemented according to the latest international standards to ensure a modern innovative educational environment. This environment will help provide a safe and attractive environment for our sons and daughters in their educational journey through the launch and operation of 23 projects for boys and 21 projects for girls at the cost of more than (765 million). These projects had a role in raising the percentage of available seats for students which benefits the neediest districts in facing the population growth in the city of Riyadh, especially in the new districts and residential plans. 36,450 students benefited from these schools that were inaugurated in more than 17 districts. Thus, raising the percentage of government school buildings in the Education Department of the city of Riyadh to 94%, and raising the percentage of administrative buildings to 99%. He expressed his appreciation of the support and attention of His Highness the Prince of the region. In turn, the Director General of Education in the region, Dr. Hassan bin Mohsen Khurmi, explained that these projects were in line with the new geographical distribution plan for education offices to cover the needs of highly populated districts in a number of neighborhoods in Riyadh and other governorates in which the administration provides its educational services. He expressed his appreciation of the support of the wise leadership for the education sector and the follow-up and guidance of His Highness the Prince of the region which contributes to creating the appropriate educational environment for male and female students to be able to compete with their peers globally, which was materialized in their victory in many of the regional and global competitions.
