TBC, the government company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and the implementing arm of the Ministry of Education's projects, seeks to participate in the Future Projects Forum, one of the initiatives of the Saudi Contractors Authority.
The said forum yet to be held (date) provides an opportunity for those interested in the contracting sector to view investment opportunities and future projects in the Kingdom. It brings together more than 37 governmental and private entities under one umbrella to present their projects to 10,000 contractors and interested parties, with a value exceeding SAR 600 billion, covering all contracting sectors.
The umbrella of TBC projects to be revealed at the Forum covers the Kingdom's regions: the western region (143 projects); the central region (118 projects); the southern region (98 projects); the eastern region (97 projects); the northern region (51 projects), which are divided into educational facilities projects, support projects for Vision 2030 programs, and the Educational Investment Services Center projects.
The TBC facilities management projects include 51 operations distributed over 11 educational administrations, with a total value of SAR2.5 billion, covering AC maintenance, cleanliness, maintenance and operation.
The projects to support the programs of Vision 2030 include nursery and kindergarten programs 45 new kindergarten buildings, 66 annexed kindergarten classrooms, 40 land plots to be invested, 126 buildings to be rehabilitated and converted into girls’ schools, 3 buildings that will be rehabilitated for early childhood, 241 buildings for annexed kindergarten classrooms, 80 toilet buildings and 10 school administration buildings. This also includes 2,693 classrooms that will be equipped and furnished; 58 buildings will be rehabilitated for early childhood; the construction of 23 buildings for early childhood.
The initiative to enhance the sports participation of female students includes establishing and equipping 90 gyms and equipping 590 existing gyms in girls' schools across the Kingdom. The safety improvement initiative includes supplying 270 buildings with safety equipment in two stages, maintaining safety equipment in 18,000 buildings in 3 stages, and providing 16,766 security guards in 3 stages.
The Educational Investment Services Center offers 196 projects in all regions of the Kingdom: 120 projects in the central region; 28 projects in the western region; 24 projects in the eastern region; 13 projects in the northern region; and 11 projects in the southern region.
Of great note, TBC, which started its business in the first quarter of 2013, is mandated and entrusted with implementing the Ministry of Education projects. It is mainly tasked with providing a safe, high-quality, and advanced educational environment.
